Scholarship Overview
The University of Malta offers partial to full tuition fee waivers (40%–100%) for outstanding non‑EU/EEA international students pursuing:
Master by Research programmes (full-time or part-time)
PhD programmes (full-time or part-time)
Important Notes
- Professional Doctorates and MBA-type programmes are NOT eligible.
- Bench fees may still apply for certain research areas.
- The fee waiver covers only tuition fees; students must fund their own living and travel expenses.
- Applicants already enrolled in their programme at UM cannot apply.
Eligibility Criteria
- Have received an unconditional offer to pursue a Master by Research or PhD at UM.
- Apply within one month of receiving the acceptance letter.
- Be nationals of non‑EU/EEA countries.
- Demonstrate strong academic ability, research potential, and financial need.
Scholarship Benefits
Scholarships provide a 40%–100% tuition fee waiver, determined by the applicant’s performance during the selection process.
