About the Scholarship

For the 2026–2027 academic year, 60 scholars will be selected to receive renewable scholarships of $10,000 per year, for up to two years. This initiative is part of the Foundation’s $100 million commitment to strengthening the healthcare workforce and supporting students preparing for clinical professions.

Scholarship funds will be distributed in two installments one in fall 2026 and the second in spring 2027 and may only be applied to verified tuition and standard academic fees.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Be enrolled full‑time or part‑time as a junior, senior, graduate, or professional student at any HBCU during the 2026–2027 academic year
  • Have at least two years of study remaining before completing their degree (including graduate or professional programs)
  • Be pursuing a degree that leads to a clinical career, such as:
    • Physician
    • Physician Assistant
    • Nurse Practitioner
    • Certified Nurse Midwife
    • Nurse
    • Pharmacist
    • Dentist
    • Social Worker
    • Addiction Counselor
    • Clinical Psychologist
    • Or a related clinical field
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
  • Have a completed 2026–2027 FAFSA on file at their institution
  • Demonstrate financial need
  • U.S. citizen or permanent residents

Application Requirement

All applicants must submit a two‑minute video responding to the following prompt:

What core principles or values do you believe are essential for creating positive change in your community and future career field? How will you demonstrate these values throughout your educational journey and in your interactions with others?

This video should reflect your commitment to service, leadership, and your vision for contributing to the healthcare field.
