About the Scholarship

Windle Trust International (WTI), in partnership with Windle International Uganda and Windle International Kenya, provides full postgraduate scholarships covering:

·       Tuition fees

·       Monthly maintenance stipend

·       Relocation costs

These scholarships aim to empower refugee women and promote equal access to higher education.

Who Can Apply?

To be eligible, applicants must:

·       Be female refugees living in Uganda or Kenya

·       Originate from Sudan, South Sudan, Somalia, or Somaliland

·       Apply for taught Master’s or Postgraduate Diploma programs in education-related subjects

·       Submit applications to at least one of the approved universities

Note: WTI makes no exceptions to the eligibility criteria.

Eligible Universities

Applicants must apply to one or more of the following institutions for August 2026 admission:

·       Makerere University

·       Bugema University

·       Uganda Martyrs University

·       University of Kisubi

·       Uganda Christian University

WTI recommends applying to at least two universities

Application Timeline

Application Window: 16 March – 16 April 2026

Interviews: May 2026 (held in-country or online)

How to Apply

Applicants must complete two separate applications:

1. University Application

Submit applications to the eligible universities listed above.

Note: University application fees may apply, and WTI does not cover these costs.

2. Windle Trust International Application

Complete the official WTI scholarship application form via the online portal.

It is mandatory to upload proof of university application submission.

Selection Process

Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview conducted by Windle Trust International. Interviews may be held in the applicant’s country of residence or online.

Important Notes

·       WTI never charges fees for scholarship applications.

·       The program strongly encourages applications from women, refugees, minorities, persons with disabilities, and individuals affected by conflict.

·       All applications must be submitted through the official online portal.
