About the scholarship

Scholarship funds will be distributed in two installments, one during the fall 2026 semester and the second during spring 2027 and may only be used for verified tuition and standard academic fees.

This program reflects NRG’s commitment to educational advancement and its investment in developing future leaders across key academic and professional fields.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Be enrolled full‑time as an undergraduate junior or senior during the 2026–2027 academic year at one of the following HBCUs:
    • Prairie View A&M University
    • Texas Southern University
  • Major in one of the designated fields:
    • STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics)
    • Marketing
    • Communications
    • Business
    • Finance
    • Accounting
    • Legal Studies
  • Hold a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
  • Have a completed 2026–2027 FAFSA on file at their institution by the time of selection
  • Demonstrate financial need
  • Be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident with valid documentation (permanent resident card or passport stamped I‑551)

Application Requirements

All applicants must submit a two‑minute video responding to the following prompt:

What core principles or values do you believe are essential for creating positive change in your community and future career field? How will you demonstrate these values throughout your academic journey and in your interactions with others?

Students may also submit an optional résumé, which can highlight leadership roles, extracurricular involvement, volunteer work, employment, athletics, or other meaningful out‑of‑class achievements.
