2026–2027 Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) McDonald’s Black & Positively Golden® Scholarship – Up to $15,000, U.S Citizens or Permanent Residents Only

About the scholarship

For the 2026–2027 academic year, 60 students will receive need-based scholarships of up to $15,000, which will be distributed in two parts, one during the fall 2026 semester and the second during spring 2027. The award can only be applied toward verified tuition and standard academic fees.

Eligibility Requirements

• Be enrolled full-time as an undergraduate freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior at an HBCU during the 2026–2027 academic year
• Hold a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.7
• Demonstrate leadership qualities
• Show documented financial need
• U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident only

Application Requirement

All applicants must submit a 100‑word essay responding to the prompt: What values matter most to you when it comes to creating positive change in your community and future career? How will you demonstrate these values in your academic life and in your interactions with others?
