The African Union Youth Volunteer Corps (AU-YVC) 2026 is a flagship continental youth programme established by the African Union to recruit, train, and deploy young African professionals across AU Member States.
The programme offers a 12-month volunteer placement where selected participants contribute to development initiatives while gaining professional experience and leadership skills.
AU-YVC promotes youth participation in Africa’s development agenda and supports the realization of Agenda 2063 – “The Africa We Want.”

Eligibility Criteria
- Citizen of an AU Member State (living in Africa or diaspora)
- Aged 18–35 years
- Hold a post-secondary qualification (TVET, Bachelor’s, Master’s, etc.)
- Available for 12 months deployment (2026/2027)
- Willing to live and work in another AU Member State
- Proficient in at least one AU language (English, French, Arabic, Portuguese, Kiswahili, or Spanish)
- At least one year verifiable volunteering experience and one year professional work experience
